For only Gossamer, my Gown –

When I was in California recently, I had the amazing fortune of finding not one, but TWO original 1970s Gunne Sax dresses at a thrift shop.

While I have worn my fair share of '70s maxi dresses, these are my first Gunnes, and now I fully understand the hype... they are full of beautiful details, and really flattering: they make me look a foot taller! ;) I think both will be added to my Etsy shop, so stay tuned for the re-opening on Feb. 1st.

  5. Stellar finds! There's no 1970s frock line I love more than Gunne Sax, though I've not yet owned one myself. Perhaps the thrifting powers that be will see fit to send one my way some day, too. These dresses both long ethereally beautiful on you, dear Dakota.

  6. Congrats on the gorgeous finds! In all my years of thrifting & vintage shopping, I have never seen a 70s Gunne Sax with a bird print such as that. Just beautiful! And of course, both dresses are stunning on you.

  7. Thank ye!! <3 I know, these dresses are such stunners, a big part of me wants to keep them...! But I'm on a major decluttering mission, and honestly I just don't know how often I'd wear such dramatic, '70s bohemian-looking dresses ;)

  8. Oh my, that second dress might just be the most beautiful garment I have ever seen! I especially like the lacing detail on the bodice.

  9. Oh wow! These dresses are such an amazing find - they're both gorgeous... No - I can't decide which is more wonderful, I'm afraid. And you definitely bring out the best in them in the gorgeous shots with your luscious hair styled perfectly.

  10. Both dresses are stunning indeed. I own a Jessicas Gunnies dress that is very similar to the second one that you have but it is slightly too small and was too lazy to make it fit for ages... but this serves as an excellent reminder to finally do this before spring arrives (-:
